Recent activities

Oh, dear. After going back over my previous posts, I have to say I was either tired, hyper, or just plain silly when I wrote those. Perhaps it was a combination of all three. Anyhow, I've been keeping busy with writing letters to friends, reading, and working, mostly. I've also begun writing a few stories, in the hope of activating my creativity, which has laid dormant for a while.

A friend of mine is here for her graduation and today for lunch we made falafels and tabouli-inspired quinoa salad. I know this isn't much of an update. I'll have to write more later.

New adventures

Sorry I haven't updated in a while! I did warn you that I would be busy and I have never been great at keeping up with a journal. Yes, I compare this to a journal, only it is (obviously) an online journal that everyone can see.

I am not currently a student at Hartland, due to some unfortunate circumstances and struggles. I canvassed for fourteen weeks, with a three-week break after ten of them (I shall fill you in on that later) and am now working temporarily for Last Generation Magazine. Right now I am indexing articles, which is actually quite enjoyable.

I am currently staying with one of the dearest people on earth to me and am extremely delighted with my circumstances. Although my immediate family is not too happy with where I am working, the support I receive from my friends and their happiness at my presence here makes me more secure in the knowledge that I have made the right decision. Here, I can grow, away from all the influences and temptations that would have surrounded me had I stayed with my family and worked elsewhere.

I do understand my family's reasoning and appreciate their concern for me, but right now, this is the best place for me to be. Here, away from the influences and temptations that I am exposed to when with my family, I can focus on other things that I need to sort out.

Anyway, this is just a little update from me! I will try to write more later.

I'm sooo happy!!!!

Okay, I'll try to calm down. But how can I when one of my dearest friends is here, whom I have not seen in a year? She and her husband are going to be here off and on for the next two and a half months. Last night I first saw her husband and my only thought was to find her (I feel so sorry afterwards, because I feel like I sort-of neglect other people when she's around). I slept well last night and got to see her again this morning! And I got to see someone else who has become very dear to me. It was brief because she had to get to a meeting, but that's okay. I still got to see her. So I have two of the dearest people on earth about 100 feet from where I am (in another building). Anyway, I have to get to work now. I'll write more later!

First attempt at blogging

Okay, so I’m going to try this whole blog thing. I’m so busy that I have a hard time keeping in touch with all of my friends and my life, which consists mostly of work and school, has so few things of interest that this should be rather easy.

I am currently a student at Hartland College, which is a missionary training school. My major is listed as Bible Instruction, but I could really go into any of them with interest, so I am going back through them and reevaluating what I should do.

Anyway, this term I am taking sewing class, which I absolutely love and can hardly wait until we actually begin working on using our patterns. I am also taking speech and homiletics. So far, this class is going well. I already have a topic picked out for my persuasive speech and have a topic picked out for my sermon for the homiletics part. And the last class I am taking is Principles of Christian Music III.

I’m still working at Hartland Publications, but I also work some for Mrs. Mayer, one of the staff here at Hartland.

That’s all I can say for now. Gotta run; there’s a wedding today (two of the staff members are getting married) and I still have a lot to do before then. Oh, and one of my dearest friends is going to be here at near the end of the month. I’m so excited to be able to see her again! One of my other friends is here, too, so I am very happy right now.

Seriously, I have to go now. God bless all of you. Ciao (Italian for "bye")!
